Mini Vinnies
Our Lady’s Mini Vinnies has been established at Our Lady’s Catholic Primary since 2016. It enables a group of Year 6 children to work on making lives better for the school, the parish and the world community. Mini Vinnies has been developed from the Society of St Vincent de Paul but is aimed at enabling younger people to, “turn concern into action.” The actions of the Mini Vinnies groups have three components; See, Think and Do! The children work together to ‘See’ where there is a need, ‘Think’ about ways to help and ‘Do’ something about it.
September 2024
We have our new Mini Vinnies for this academic year. They were so thoughtful in their responses on their application forms as to why they would like to be Mini Vinnies.
"I would like to be a Mini Vinnie because I want to help other people the way that I would want to be helped."
"I would like to help other children in need or support them when they are in deep trouble within our school community."
"I want to develop my skills to help lead and serve through helping others."

Harvest 2024
The Mini Vinnies have played an important role in gathering and delivering the food donations from our Harvest Assembly. We took them to The Olive Branch on Castle Street, Edgeley. The children took pride in knowing how our donations would go to helping those in our community. Members from The Olive Branch were extremely grateful and passed on their thanks for such kind donations.
November 2024
The Mini Vinnies attended Shrewsbury Diocese Young Vincentian Mass at Our Lady's Church, Edgeley.
