Mrs Gadd

Welcome to the Year 3 Class Page.

Welcome to Year 3. My name is Mrs Gadd and I teach Year 3. Our Teaching Assistant is Mrs O'Neill.

I am looking forward to continuing to teach the Year 3 children, helping them to develop their understanding and skills through exciting and interesting learning experiences. I am always here to help both you and your child, so if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to speak to me at the end of the school day or contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

School day:

Start time: 8:55

Finish Time: 3:30

Weekly Routines

P.E

We now have P.E every Monday and Thursday(outside on the MUGA, weather permitting). Children should come to school dressed in their P.E kit. It is recommended that during the winter months, children wear jogging bottoms and bring a school jumper/fleece to wear for PE on the MUGA.

Water Bottles

Children need to bring their water bottle into school every morning.

Reading Books

Reading Books will be issued home every Tuesday and Thursday for you to share and enjoy daily with your child(ren). Please can your child/children bring their reading books in every day, as they may be read to an adult in school. Reading records must be signed and dated in order for us to change books. Please note, any books not signed, will not be changed. A record of all books issued, including when changed, is kept to help us monitor reading progression.

Homework

Homework will be issued on a weekly basis.

Spellings – 5 per week. These will be given every Friday. The children will be tested on their spellings on the following Friday and 5 new spellings will be given to learn.

Maths homework – This will be given every Tuesday and needs to be returned by Friday of the same week.

English – This will be given every Friday and needs to be returned by the following Tuesday.

At the end of Year 3, the children are expected to know their 10’s, 5’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, and 8’s.

They will be given times tables to learn at home, as well as practising these in school.
