Welcome to the Year 3 Class Page.
Mr Kilkenny and Mrs Foster are the Year 3 teachers.
Mr Kilkenny teaches on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Mrs Foster teaches on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Between us, we have over 40 years of teaching experience each, bringing a wealth of knowledge and understanding to the classroom.
We are both looking forward to continuing to teach the Year 3 children, helping them to develop their skills and understanding through exciting and engaging learning experiences.
We are always here to support both you and your child. If you have any queries, please feel free to speak to us at the end of the school day or contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

Weekly Routines
P.E
Stockport County have kindly provided every child with a new PE kit. Kits will come into school each Monday and be sent home on Friday. For Year 3, PE takes place on Mondays and Thursdays. You can view the Planning Overview at the bottom of this page to see which sports the children will be learning on a termly basis.
Water Bottles
Children need to bring their water bottle into school every morning.
Reading Books
Reading Books will be issued home every Tuesday and Thursday for you to share and enjoy daily with your child(ren). Please can your child/children bring their reading books in every day, as they may be read to an adult in school. Reading records must be signed and dated in order for us to change books. Please note, any books not signed, will not be changed. A record of all books issued, including when changed, is kept to help us monitor reading progression.
Homework
Homework will be issued on a weekly basis.
Spellings – 10 per week. These will be given every Friday. The children will be tested on their spellings on the following Friday and 10 new spellings will be given to learn.
Maths homework – This will be given every Tuesday and needs to be returned by Friday of the same week.
English homework – This will be given every Friday and needs to be returned by the following Tuesday.
At the end of Year 3, the children are expected to know their 10’s, 5’s, 2’s, 3’s, 4’s, and 8’s.
They will be given times tables to learn at home, as well as practising these in school.
