Welcome to Our Lady
Our Lady’s School is a happy and friendly school. We hope this website gives you some useful information about Our Lady’s School and give you a flavour of our school community.
It is very important to us that every child is valued and that their own unique gifts, talents and qualities are recognised. We provide a range of learning opportunities to engage children in their learning and helping children to make good progress and achieve their potential. Raising attainment of children across all areas of the curriculum is central to our teaching. All children, irrespective of their learning ability, are supported through an extensive range of strategies and activities. Children are taught as individuals, in small groups and classes. Children’s learning is assessed regularly, so that support and challenge is given where appropriate. In all year groups we monitor children’s progress, sharing this with the children and their parents helping everyone to understand the next important steps in learning.
We actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle. As well as offering the children opportunities for sport and physical activities including dance and gym we enrich the curriculum by providing a wide range of activities before school, at lunchtimes and after school.
We work hard to build trusting relationships with all children and their families to ensure their engagement and enjoyment in every aspect of school life.
We believe that the environment we offer at Our Lady’s School plays a crucial part in developing our children into happy, safe, healthy and motivated learners. Our calm and purposeful atmosphere contributes greatly to the development of the whole child. Children are taught to make good choices, considering the impact on themselves and others. We provide a caring environment where children feel valued and everyone is encouraged to play an active role in the life of the school. Equal opportunities are provided, regardless of race, religion, gender or special needs. As each child journeys through the school we aim to equip children with the values, skills and knowledge they need to fulfil their potential.
